Freeriders will find marked ski routes around Lärmstange and several appealing off-piste slopes when snow conditions are suitable. Additional variants can open up below Tuxer Fernerhaus and around Sommerberg during the main winter season. The terrain at Hintertux Glacier should not be underestimated. Outside the marked and open pistes, skiers face avalanche, fall and crevasse hazards. Barriers and warning signs must always be observed. Anyone unfamiliar with the area should explore it with a qualified mountain or ski guide.
