Families with young children benefit from the Flohpark next to the valley station. Magic carpets, beginner lifts and a carousel can be used free of charge without a ski pass. During the winter season, the Kidsslope and Funslope at Sommerberg provide further variety. Snow tunnels, waves and banked turns are suitable for children who can already control their skis confidently.
Several ski schools offer group and private lessons for both children and adults. Away from the pistes, family-friendly attractions include the Nature Ice Palace, the panoramic terrace and the Spannagel Cave. The limited number of easy pistes, relatively long journeys through the ski area and absence of dedicated family passes prevent Hintertux from receiving a higher family rating. The resort is better suited to families with children who already have some skiing experience than to groups of complete beginners.
