Skiing in the Balkans

Skiing in Serbia primarily means skiing in Kopaonik. The largest ski area in the Balkans offers around 60 kilometres of varied pistes and twelve kilometres of ski routes for touring skiers and has become a real insider tip. From the Serbian capital Belgrade, the extremely modern ski centre is located about four hours by car to the south, at an altitude of around 2,000 metres.

The up-and-coming Stara Planina ski resort is also an absolute must. Although there are currently only 13 kilometres of pistes here, a ski area of around 40 kilometres with the corresponding infrastructure in the valley is planned.

Tornik in the Serbian Zlatibor low mountain range is the right place for those who not only want to ski in winter but are also looking for the exoticism of a unique landscape. Although there are only about seven kilometres of pistes here, there are a lot of scenic and cultural highlights in the surrounding region.
