Beware - tree skiing is highly addictive!

While ski experts in Europe or New Zealand are always on the lookout for always steeper tree-free terrain the ski resorts in Australia and USA attract by offering another kind of kick. The tree line in the Rocky`s is much higher than in Europe for instance. Steamboat is the most popular tree-skiing-resort in the US. Tree cover is not too dense therefore the ride through snow-covered forests will definitely enthuse any expert skiers. The nicest tree-runs are below the 3221m (10568 ft) high Mt Werner as well as at the “Sunshine Express” (see trail map). But keep safe and wear protection when venturing into the tree-grounds! Apart from skiable forests steamboat boasts some great mogul runs like the trails "Tornado", "Nelson´s Run" und "Twister" (below the “Four Points” lift). We especially enjoyed the racing courses “NASTAR” at the “Bashor” lift and “SEE ME” at the “Christie III Chair”. Test your skills on the tracks and compete with fellow skiers!
