Nice terrain park at the chairlift!

Snowboarders who like spending their day practicing new stunts in the terrain parks will enjoy Mt Dobson. The rails and jumps at the “Flat Out Trail” (see trail map) do not belong to the most challenging obstacles, but free-stylers can definitely spend a couple of fun hours. Also the “Natural Halfpipe”, a natural mountain channel is quite useful for some fun jumps. Free-rider can find some nice terrain between the chairlift and the t-bar, however Mt Dobson can not compete with the back-country opportunities offered in close by Cardrona or Treble Cone. For all snowboard first timers however Mt Dobson is the perfect destination. The “Platter 1” novice terrain is the largest in New Zealand and is the place to be for first rides. We recommend beginners to buy the less expensive “Learner Platter Lift Pass” which gives only access to the novice area.
