Beautiful practice area, but not very many green trails in the upper part of the ski area.

Easy runs are green in the US (blue in Europe). Unfortunately, apart from a beautiful practice slope off the Shoshone lift and the cat track Teton Vista Traverse, there are none to be found in the entire ski area. But if you are planning on putting on a pair of skis or strapping on a board for the very first time at Grand Targhee, this probably won’t bother you in the least. The kids’ park and practice slope off the Shoshone and little magic carpet lifts provide beginners with easy runs and groomed slopes through aspen woods. If you’re looking for longer trails, though, you’ll have to head to one of the blue ones (blues are the intermediate trails in the US). Beginners might have a rough time at the top of these trails, though, where they’ll run into some extremely steep passages.
