The learning's easy at Crested Butte!

The practice area alone at the base terminal of the Silver Queen lift is enough to show that Crested Butte is set on providing good learning conditions for beginning skiers. Only 1/4th of Crested Butte's 472 hectares of trails are „easy.“ If you get on the Red Lady Express lift at the base , you'll have a variety of easy trails back to the base to choose from. Houston, Poverty Gulch, Mineral Point and Smith Hill are the catchy names of these relatively long yet also very flat slopes. Once you start feeling a little more confident on your skis, you'll be ready to explore the trails off the Gold Link and Prospect lifts. Though marked intermediate (blue), with a little bit of caution, even less-experienced skiers will have no problem with them. We do, however, recommend that beginners stay away from the blues located higher up the mountain coming off of the Silver Queen and the Paradise Express. If you want to make certain that you won't have any problems, and explore the ski area together with an instructor, just book online at www.skicb.com or call ahead at +1(800)5448448.
