Kat Skiing at Mt McKay and a “Heli Link” to Mt Hotham

After you have explored the steeps in the so-called Maze area, like the Jigsaw slope or the Roller Coaster (only recommendable in case of good snow cover), try Australia`s highlight for expert skiers. Hop on the snow cat (extra fee!) to Mt McKay for some of Australia´s steepest expert skiing terrain. However runs in Falls Creek are quite short (the longest run is the 3km long Wishing Well run) and very skilled skiers will have explored all slopes within one day. But Falls Creek offers another great service. The “Heli Link” transfers snow fans from Falls Creek to the Mt Hotham ski resort, a pretty demanding resort which can be skied on the same lift ticket (extra charge for the helicopter!). Even though Victoria has more demanding resorts to offer (i.e. Mt Hotham or Mt Buller) Falls Creek comes up with some very nice ideas (Heli Link, Kat Skiing) which makes this resort interesting also for very skilled skiers.
