      A great beginner area!

Ski resorts in New Zealand don’t always make life easy for beginners. Steeps and chutes and pristine powder slopes is more an expert dream come true and beginners are often forgotten by the ski resorts! However Cardrona is an exception!!! Right by the base of the MacDougall Quad are three magic carpet lifts that take the first timers safely and comfortably up the flat practicing slopes. And those that feel more secure on skis or board can hop into the Mac Dougall’s Quad to get to the three easy slopes (earmarked green) “Shaun’s Way, “Foottrot Flats” and”Skyline”. The “Skyline” trail is a must see due the breathtaking view of snow-capped mountain peaks and the beautiful lakes around Queenstown. Even though Cardrona like all other ski resorts in New Zealand is world-famous for its demanding powder runs, it is one of the best beginner ski resorts in New Zealand and absolutely deserves the good rating of 4 stars in the beginners category.
