FIS Launches Free 24/7 World Cup Channel in the US and Canada

Watching the FIS World Cup is about to become much easier for fans in the United States and Canada. Starting in November 2026, the International Ski and Snowboard Federation plans to roll out a free, ad-supported 24/7 streaming channel for the 2026/27 season. The new Ski & Snowboard World Cup channel will offer more than 600 hours of live coverage, although an exact launch date has not yet been announced.

One Channel Across Numerous Streaming Platforms

The new service is a FAST channel. The abbreviation stands for “free ad-supported streaming television”: viewers do not need a subscription, but the programming includes commercial breaks.

According to FIS, Ski & Snowboard World Cup will initially be available through Prime Video, Fire TV, Google TV, Live TV on PS5, Plex, Sony Pictures Core, The Roku Channel and Xumo Play. Further platforms are expected to follow. The channel was developed with North American FAST operator C15 Studio and is intended to reach tens of millions of households through devices they already use.

For now, the rollout is limited to the United States and Canada. FIS is considering bringing this direct-to-fan model to other markets in the future, but has not announced any specific expansion plans.

NBC and YouTube Add More Options in the United States

The FAST channel is only one part of the new US broadcasting setup. It stems from an expanded partnership between FIS, U.S. Ski & Snowboard and NBC.

World Cup events will therefore also be shown on NBC platforms during the season. In addition, fans can follow competitions through the new Ski & Snowboard World Cup YouTube channel.

The exact distribution of individual races between the different platforms has not yet been published. Fans should check the respective listings shortly before each competition, especially when several World Cup events take place on the same weekend.

CBC and Gem Expand Coverage in Canada

Canadian viewers will continue to find FIS competitions on CBC and the broadcaster’s streaming service Gem. According to FIS, CBC has secured its most comprehensive snow-sports rights package in more than a decade.

This combination of traditional television, streaming services and the new FAST channel should make European World Cup races easier to follow despite the time difference. Alpine star Mikaela Shiffrin welcomed the improved access, pointing out that North American fans have often struggled to watch races taking place in Europe.

More Than 600 Hours of Live Snow Sports

The programme will extend well beyond alpine ski racing. FIS plans to show World Cup competitions in cross-country skiing, ski jumping, nordic combined, freestyle skiing, freeskiing and snowboarding.

The channel is also designed to operate throughout the year. Alongside live competitions, the schedule will feature classic races, documentaries and behind-the-scenes programmes about athletes and the international World Cup circuit.

FIS has not promised that every competition in every discipline will be available on the channel. However, more than 600 hours of planned live coverage would make it one of the most extensive dedicated snow-sports offerings available in North America.
