Review Wurzeralm Spital am Pyhrn: Backcountry Skiing

The Wurzeralm is certainly not a freeride hotspot, but there are still off-piste possibilities for powder fans. Especially the area at Frauenkar is popular for powder skiing. During the "Powderdays" a large part of the Frauenkar slope is also left unprepared to allow even more deep snow descents. The Wurzeralm Ski School also offers freeride courses, and guided ski tours are available on request. For tourers there is also an ascent track to the top station of the funicular and to Schwarzeck.
