Katschberg-Aineck – Beautiful ski resort for families and day trips!

The ski resort at the border between Carinthia and Salzburg obtains rather good valuations in nearly all categories. Only snowboarders will probably be disappointed due to the missing fun-park and back-country descents. Families however will find a very family oriented ski resort at the Katschberg with practice areas and a fantastic kids park. Katschberg-Aineck is definitely one of the best skiing-areas for families in the eastern Alps.

Very good slopes, I am always pleased to be there, many slope connections (from the house directly on the slopes)
Very nice the ski area pleases me well. The lift attendants could perhaps grab a little friendlier with the children. But on the whole good.

There is something for every skill level. From almost every hotel you can reach the slopes directly. D.H., put on your skis outside the door and go

      Skiing instead of lifting
Very long and crisp slopes, grippy for any carve and not overrun! There is on the Salzburg side, the Aineck the A1, a 15 kilometre slope with carving, flat and steep pieces!

Overall I preferred to ski on the Aineck than on the Tschaneck. The Aineck was for me with clear distance the better part of the ski area.
