Nice practicing area right at the base!

Although New Zealand is known primarily for its demanding off-piste terrain the majority of the winter tourists are beginners and intermediate skiers. “The Remarks“ caters nicely to that group. Therefore right below the cafe at the base a huge beginners` area is located. A magic carpet and a tow lift make sure beginners can practice tranquilly without having to use the large lift facilities. The quad chair “Alta Chair” accesses the two easy slopes (marked green in New Zealand) “turquoise” and “Alta Green”. Those that are not completely new to snow sports can venture into the intermediate terrain around the “Sugar Bowl Chairlift” without problems. However beginners should definitely keep away from the “Shadow Basin” (subarea around the “Shadow Basin Lift” as the terrain is mostly ungroomed and of very difficult level.
