Very few other resorts offer such a high percentage of black trails!
Expert skiers have probably grown accustomed to the fact that most ski areas are extremely heavy on blue and red trails, and extremely light on blacks. But not Leukerbad. Seven total black runs will put even the best of winter athletes to the test. Anyone feeling up to it can ski from Rinderhalde/FIS (no.3) over Alter Staffel/FIS (no.4), Waldpiste (no.5), and Flaschenhalde (no.6) to the base, and cover 1300 meters of elevation in one go on nothing but black trails. Unfortunately, Leukerbad has no permanent downhill course. That, and the numerous unaccomodating t-bars are the two things that caused Leukerbad-Albinen to barely miss out on a perfect score of 5 stars in the Experts category.
