Ski Review 2022/2023: Freeride models under 100 mm

Fresh powder and untracked slopes are the dream of every freerider. Unfortunately, the reality often looks different. With the freeride models with a center width of up to 100 millimeters, you can make the best out of rutted slopes and broken slush. They are true all-rounders that work in all snow conditions and won't even let you down on a run down the slopes. Here come the results of the WorldSkitest 2022/2023.

The all-rounders for off-piste terrain

Wide enough for the necessary buoyancy in the snow, the models in this freeride category still offer enough maneuverability. With a center width between 90 and 102 millimeters, they close the gap between the all-mountain skis and the really wide freeride slats. Accordingly, the models are versatile. They enable fast descents through deep snow slopes, even if the snow is more slush than powder. Even the occasional descent on the slopes is easily possible with these skis.

That's why the testers skied the freeride models up to 100 millimeters at the 2022 WorldSkitest in Kals, East Tyrol, both off-piste and on-piste. In contrast to the other categories, there were two test runs in direct succession.

For real big mountain slats, you should take a look at the results in the category "Freeride over 100mm".
