Naturally snowy location and excellent snow-making

Arlberg is located at an elevation of 1,300 metres (4,265 ft) to 2,800 metres (9,186 ft), making it one of the most snow-sure ski resorts in Austria. Furthermore, its location between Verwall at the south, Lechquellen Mountains at the north west, and the Lechtal Alps at the north and north east is favourable to the weather conditions – once it snows on Arlberg, the snow sticks.

Furthermore, excellent snow-making on large parts of the slopes allows for artificial snow. Hence, its season from the end of November/ beginning of December to mid-/end of April is outstandingly long for an Austrian resort. If you book a skiing trip to Arlberg between mid-December and mid-March, you can usually be sure to find sufficient snow for skiing.

St Anton is very snow-proof. Even in 2015 and 2016 we were able to ski excellently at Christmas. Green Meadow, but all the slopes, including those in the valley, were rideable.
