Ski Resort Saas Fee in the Saastal: Position on map

Review Saas Fee: Beginner Skiing

Skigebiete-Test
Category Beginner: Official review by Snow-Online.com
Helpful?
  • Great variety of ski schools and lessons offered
  • Designated beginner areas
  • Enough easy slopes at the base station
    Scores:
    Beginner 7 / 10
    Overall score: 81 / 100

Large beginners' area in the valley, but quite challenging on the mountain.

In the base area of Saas-Fee there are several blue practice slopes (lifts: Leeboden, Stafelwald, Bifig/Kalbermatten) where beginners can practice skiing or snowboarding.

In the upper part of the ski area, however, there are mainly red slopes, some of which are quite demanding and thus pose greater problems for the inexperienced skier. Only around Morenia and the Mittagshorn T-bar lift are continuous blue slopes to be found. Otherwise, red slope sections have to be mastered again and again.

If you still want to ski these slopes as a beginner, you should seek the help of the ski school, which is located directly at the valley station in Saas-Fee.

The lifts in the village are great for children. Morenia or the glacier are the next steps for beginners, which can be easily managed.
