Located between 1,000 and 1,911 meters, the ski area is not overly high. What Gerlitzen lacks in altitude, however, the ski area makes up for with its snow-making facilities. The entire 45 kilometers of slopes can be covered with artificial snow. The ski season usually lasts from the beginning of December to the beginning of April.

It is not very high but has a very sophisticated snowmaking system. Cooling towers pre-cool the snowmaking water. This means that all the main pistes can really be skied from mid-December to Easter, and the north-facing downhill run is always open until the end of the season.
