The Cross-Country Area
Oberwiesenthal is the gate to incredible 75 kilometers (46,6 miles) of cross-country skiing trails. Some of the eight trails invite well into late spring. Beginners should check out the "Kreuzbrückenfelsenloipe" trail with a length of 5,5 kilometer (3,4 miles) and the "Höhenloipe" that is 5 kilometer (3,1 miles) long. Cross-country skiers with more experience should definitely hit the "Aussichtsloipe", starting at the sport center of Fichtelberg. Experts shouldn´t miss out on the "Eliteloipe. It´s 5 kilometer (3,1 miles) long and with gradients as steep as 14 percent and leaves no skier or rider unchallenged.
