Americas most northern Skiing Experience

Alaska is the most northern state in the United States and famous for its sub-polar climate. The characteristic weather is the reason for Alaska's long, cold and snowy winters. In the far north of Alaska you'll encounter the Alaska Range which also includes the mountain Denali (former official name: Mount McKinley). Denali is with 6.194 meters (20.310 ft) the highest mountain in the United States and is the jewel in the crown of Denali National Park and Preserve. In total, Alaska can provide seven resorts which are all located near the coast. The most famous is Alyeska close to the city of Anchorage. The resort is very blessed with 16 meters of fresh snow each year. You have a total of 76 slopes at your disposal including the longest, uninterrupted double black diamond slope in North America. Also close to Anchorage are the resorts Hilltop Ski Area and Arctic Valley Ski Area. Winter sport enthusiast furthermore enjoy popular places like Eaglycrest Ski Area and Moose Mountain, each providing 35 slopes.

The raw and rugged nature of Alaska is an experience of its own and already a legitimate reason to travel there. An absolute highlight is Aurora Borealis, the colorful northern lights dancing in the sky. Apart from skiing, Alaska has lots and lots of other fun activities lined up for you to try: for example a ride through the Alaskan landscape with an old-school dogsled.

Many different airports in the United States fly to the airport in Anchorage, including Chicago and Atlanta. Alaska and its beautiful winter wonderland are therefore easily reached by international guests as well.
