Christina Aguilera Crowns Ischgl's Record-Breaking Season

The 2025/26 winter season in Ischgl was a record-breaker in every sense: what kicked off with Rita Ora's opening concert back in November turned into a season that had a whole lot more to offer than just great slope conditions. The grand finale came in the form of a closing concert for the ages featuring Christina Aguilera, but it wasn't just the show that made headlines. Welcoming the two-millionth guest of the season and clinching a third consecutive Guinness World Record gave Ischgl plenty more to celebrate as the curtain came down on another remarkable winter.

On Saturday, Ischgl wrapped up its season in a way that will go down in Alpine history. This year's "Top of the Mountain Closing Concert" saw global superstar Christina Aguilera transform the Idalp into an extraordinary open-air stage, perched at over 2.300 meters, with the breathtaking peaks of the Silvretta Arena as a backdrop. On May 2, 2026, around 19.000 fans witnessed a performance that was far more than just a season send-off.

Where generations came together

The 45-year-old American's setlist spanned decades of pop history: from classics like "Genie in a Bottle," "Beautiful," and "Fighter" to powerful ballads and newer hits, the show was a career-spanning journey through some of pop's finest moments. By the time "Dirrty" hit, the Idalp had turned into a sea of pure emotion.

Multiple show-stopping outfit changes and an electrifying stage presence were a reminder of exactly why Christina Aguilera stands among the true greats of international music. For Ischgl, the closing concert was more than just an event, it was a statement of why this destination has earned its reputation as the "Pioneer of Music Acts in the Alps."

The closing concert with Christina Aguilera put the perfect exclamation mark on a concert season that had turned the Silvretta Arena Ischgl-Samnaun into a world-class live music destination right from day one.

Season Opener with Rita Ora

Things kicked off on November 29, 2025, when British pop superstar Rita Ora took the stage at the "Top of the Mountain Opening Concert" at the valley station of the Silvrettabahn, performing in front of around 17.000 enthusiastic fans to officially launch the 2025/26 winter season. A more than worthy start to a winter that was clearly going to set the bar high from the very beginning.

Electronic Beats at Easter with Robin Schulz

April 5, 2026 brought the "Top of the Mountain Easter Concert": Robin Schulz, one of Germany's most successful DJs and producers, delivered an Easter Sunday full of electronic beats and party vibes on the Idalp, with 22.000 fans joining the celebration at 2.300 meters. Easter, done very differently.

Ben Zucker Brings Schlager Vibes to the Idalp

At the "Top of the Mountain Spring Concert" on April 19, 2026, it was Ben Zucker who got the Idalp rocking. Despite unpredictable weather, sleet one moment, sunshine the next, the Schlager star won over more than 8.000 fans with an infectious open-air show at 2.300 meters. It was also his only full live band concert in Austria this year, making it yet another standout moment of Ischgl's Spring Blanc festival, a celebration that continues to write the Alpine spring music scene's finest chapters.

Schlager Icon Beatrice Egli at the Spring Snow Festival

To close out April, on the 25th, Swiss Schlager icon Beatrice Egli brought the energy to the 36th International Spring Snow Festival on the Alp Trida in Samnaun, performing for around 8.000 visitors in high spirits. She had already graced the stage at the winter opening back in 2013, and now she returned for a headline slot at the season's closing celebrations. The Spring Snow Festival has been a fixture since 1989 and remains a beloved tradition marking the end of every season.

Ischgl's Success Story Doesn't Stop

The 2025/26 winter season wasn't just a musical triumph. With the closing concert as its crowning moment, Ischgl is looking back on a season that set benchmarks on multiple fronts.

The Two-Millionth Guest — for the Tenth Time

A special moment unfolded on April 17, 2026 at 9:10 AM: for the tenth time in the history of the Silvretta Arena Ischgl-Samnaun, the resort welcomed its two-millionth guest of the season. Mr. Mahler, who has been making the trip to Ischgl every year for an impressive 35 years alongside his wife, was personally greeted by the board members of Silvrettaseilbahn AG. As a special thank-you, the couple received a LEGO bouquet, an Insta360 action cam, and an experience voucher for the Alpenhaus.

A Third World Record in a Row

That Ischgl knows how to make headlines off the slopes too was recently proven in style by the Eiterer hotelier family from Hotel Fliana: with the world's largest decanting machine, Ischgl has secured its third consecutive Guinness World Record. Under official supervision, the device, with an impressive capacity of 379 liters, well above the required minimum of 370, was officially certified.

Designed and built by a specialist machinery manufacturer from Styria, the decanting machine is not just an engineering feat but is actually functional with real wine, a world first. It's also part of a much bigger project: the construction of one of Austria's largest hotel wine cellars, set to be completed in November 2027.

This keeps Ischgl's remarkable record-breaking streak alive: in 2023, the destination claimed its first record with the largest e-bike world championship by number of participants, 2025 brought the largest ski gondola built from LEGO bricks, and now, the record-breaking decanting machine rounds out an extraordinary hat-trick.
