Lindsey Vonn wins another downhill in Crans Montana

Once again Lindsey Vonn showed that she is by far the best downhill athlete at the women´s side this season. The American completed the demanding course in 1:23.57 minutes and was way ahead of the field. The experienced Renate Goetschl was second and was 0,60 seconds behind the winner. Nadia Fanchini, the winner of the training run, finished third.

On the way to the Overall World Cup title
After clinching the downhill title, Vonn now wants to win the Overall World Cup and is on her way to getting it done. Her main rivals finished behind her. So was Nicole Hosp only in 27th place with Maria Riesch coming in fifth. Julia Mancuso (USA) was fourth and missed the podium. Vonn had some problems in the training but put them away at the race as she raced to another dominating win, her fifth downhill win of the career.

No World Cup win for Goetschl so far
Behind Vonn, Goetschl came in second despite having problems at one jump. The Austrian is still winless this season and this might be the first season without a downhill win since 1997 for Goetschl. Nadia Fanchini on the other hand proved that her training results came not out of nowhere. She wore bib 30 and showed an impressive run.
