Another win for Tanja Poutiainen in Zagreb

It was a great slalom race which was held on Friday evening in Zagreb. Tanja Poutiainen beat the favorites and won her second World Cup race in Zagreb and achieved the first win in the World Cup since three years.

Schild falls behind
The slalom race in Zagreb is one of the toughest in the World Cup and so it was a great fight for the win for the women. Poutiainen from Finland had a great final run and was on top in the end. Marlies Schild, the leader after the first run, had some mistakes in the final and fell behind Poutiainen and was second in the end. Veronika Zuzulova a strong final run and got the third place coming from behind with her aggressive style of skiing.

Hosp skies out
Kathrin Zettel from Austria had a great performance as well and came in as fourth ahead of young Nina Loeseth from Norway. Sixth place went to Sarka Zahrobska from the Czech Republic. Nicole Hosp, second after the first run, crashed out in the final and didn´t get any points, so did Maria Riesch from Germany. Lindsey Vonn, skipping the race and already preparing overseas, was therefore the big winner of the weekend considering the chances of winning the Overall World Cup.
