Völkl Blaze 106 W (Powder Ski 2023/2024)

Product Summary

The Völkl Blaze 106 W's full retail price is € 790. The Ski costs roughly € 110 more than the average price of all Powder Skis, making it a real premium Ski. This ski is just right for good skiers. Stable but not overpowering. The Blaze 106 W is a pure freeride ski. Riding on groomers is no problem but due to its fairly wide waist the ski has a strong bias towards powder runs. The ski is available from 158 to 179cm.

The ski in details

A ski for the rad woman who wants to glide and playfully turn with ease off-piste in deeper conditions with the option to head further afield into the backcountry should her desire and fresh powder coincide.

The thin Titanal Binding Platform underfoot harnesses power with little effort, creating an incredibly enjoyable and dynamic turning experience, immediately from initiation. In narrow terrain and/or rough conditions their reaction time is impressive, especially for a powder-width ski. Their full length Hybrid Multilayer Woodcore and overall design target short-turn-oriented skiers, but the sidecut’s three radius technology adapts to most every riding style. In addition to ripping around the resort, the Blaze 106 W’s also transition into capable freeride touring skis because of their lightweight, yet powerful nature. With the addition of the Suspension Tip, a rubbery, shock-absorbing material on the tip and tail edges, the Blaze 106 W rides high through pow, crud and wind buffed snow with playful power.

Three radii in one ski for maximum TURNING & SPEED VERSATILITY IN ALL MOUNTAIN SKIING LONG TIP & TAIL RADIUS

Base P-Tex 2100
A sintered high-density and high molecular polyethylene base with great gliding characteristics and high durability

Hybrid Multilayer Woodcore
Light and very stable poplar and beech woods, individually weighed and selected by weight before gluing, are used in this wood core.

Hybrid Multilayer Woodcore 1
In the area around the steel edges, a poplar wood hand-picked by weight provides the necessary stability, while in the center of the ski, the soft and light Paulownia wood ensures the ski's flexibility.

The side wall is laminated to extremely stable layers of wood on the sides of the sandwich core.
