The Stubai Valley is located southwest of Innsbruck and is the main valley of the Stubai Alps. First class pistes, a glacier ski resort and a family-friendly environment are what make this region so popular amongst winter sport enthusiasts. The Stubai glacier is especially popular because of its long winter seasons. A wonderful surprise is the ski carousel below the Schaufelspitze at 3.332 meters (10932 ft) above sea level. There is also an observation platform called “Top of Tyrol” with a view onto more than 100 mountains over 3.000 meters (9842.5 ft) high. Directly at the beginning of the Stubai Valley you will find the Serles ski resorts which is popular amongst families because of easier slopes. On the other side of the valley the ski resort Schlick 2000 is welcoming you with diverse pistes and romantic alpine mountain huts. Directly above the main village of Neustift there is the Elfer skiing area. Here you should definitely not miss the action-packed run to the valley. Last but not least the Stubai Valley is famous for its bobsleigh tracks which is why kids will definitely not experience boredom here.
The valley can be reached easiest by driving the Brennerautobahn (highway). Take the exit Schönberg from where you can continue on to the different villages in the valley.
