World Cup atmosphere in Tarvisio
The women's Ski World Cup will be held in Tarvisio on January 17 and 18. Downhill and super-G are on the program.
The Ski Resort
Hidden in the northeastern corner of Italy, where the borders of Austria and Slovenia converge, lies one of the Alps' most charming winter escapes: Tarvisio. This small village in Friuli-Venezia Giulia is no mass-market resort destination, but rather a hidden gem for those who value authentic mountain experience and quality over size. The setting is genuinely stunning: jagged Canin rock faces rise in the distance, while the Luschari overlooks the village with its distinctive floodlit runs. World champions have trained here for decades, and you'll feel that sporting heritage in every turn—especially on the legendary Pista di Prampero, which will host World Cup racing in 2026.
Small in Size, Big on Variety
Don't let the modest footprint fool you, Tarvisio is perfectly conceived. You've got 24 kilometers of slopes, 60 kilometers of cross-country trails, and a winter sports portfolio that reaches far beyond traditional skiing. Managed by PromoTurismoFVG as part of a regional ski network, the area reflects solid infrastructure and thoughtful service at every turn. Whether you're carving down pistes, gliding along trails, snowshoeing through the mountains, or night skiing under the lights, Tarvisio delivers. And when you need a breather, you'll find ice skating rinks, spa facilities, and plenty of cozy corners to warm up and recharge.
