Sonnenkopf – more than just a family ski resort!
Klostertal is clearly being marketed toward athletic families with small children, and Sonnenkopf is often described as the “family ski resort at Arlberg.” And as its perfect rating of 5 stars in the Families category shows, we certainly agree with that assessment. The thing that surprised us, was the fact that Sonnenkopf in Klostertal valley proved to be much more; the blue trails in the western part of the ski area are perfect for true beginners’ first moves on the snow. The Glattingrat and Obermoos chairlifts take skiers and boarders up to some nice reds as well as quite a bit of off-piste action (after a good snowfall, of course). Conclusion: Families can spend an unforgettable vacation here, and experienced winter athletes can take a day off from St. Anton to enjoy the more peaceful slopes at Sonnenkopf.
