Review Nozawa Onsen: Freestyle Skiing

Although Nozawa Onsen boasts its very own terrain park in the shape of Uenotaira Snow Park, it is certainly nothing to write home about. The park is some 2 km in length and serves up a number of different features like kickers, boxes, rails and even a decently sized halfpipe (snow permitting) towards the bottom. It is also conveniently located next to one of the main arteries of the resort in the Uenotaira run (no. 8). So far so good, right? Unfortunately we found the park area to be simply too flat to enjoy most of the features with any conviction. So although the park here is nice to have, it certainly shouldn’t be the reason you head for Nozawa.
