New SunnyCross Snow Park

The Kappl ski area offers 15 kilometres of blue-graded and 20 kilometres of red-graded pistes, providing ideal conditions for an unforgettable ski holiday — particularly for families, beginners and early intermediates. Advanced skiers can also look forward to five kilometres of black-graded runs.

Beginners will find gentle, blue-graded descents in the lower part of the ski area, including runs No. 5 and 1a as well as No. 11 and 9a to the Diasalpe. Young skiers can head to the Sunny Mountain Adventure Park, a practice area with a covered magic carpet and the beginner-friendly Flaxi run.

Intermediate skiers should make a beeline for the 8-kilometre Lattenabfahrt. It is the longest run in the Kappl ski area, leading from the Lattenjoch all the way down to the Huisleralm. From there, the equally red-graded run No. 4 continues down to the village. Also well worth trying is the red-graded run No. 7, which leads from the Lattenjoch to the Panoramabar Sunny Mountain.

Advanced skiers will find 5 kilometres of black-graded pistes in Kappl, split across three runs: No. 8 from the Lattenjoch to the Panoramabar Sunny Mountain, No. 3 from Gongall and Mardinal, and No. 10 from the top station of the Alblittbahn to the Diasalpe. Speed enthusiasts should head to the permanent race course in the Alblitt area to compare best times.

For freeriders, several ski routes are available: route No. 15 leads from the Huisleralm to Unterbichl; Nos. 16, 17 and 18 each start at the Lattenjoch and head towards the Panoramabar Sunny Mountain; route No. 19 is accessed via the red-graded run No. 7 and then merges into the red-graded 2a, which in turn feeds into the Lattenabfahrt.

Snowboarders and freestylers meet at the Funpark Alblitt. Here, beginners and pros alike can practise their first tricks or show off their skills on kickers, rails, rainbows and tables.

New Ski Link Kappl & See

Since the winter of 2023/24, the new Skischaukel Kappl & See ticket partnership has united the family ski areas of Kappl and See into one big winter adventure. Thanks to the short bus connection, guests can easily enjoy the highlights of both ski areas in a single day.

Typical Tyrolean delicacies in rustic huts and charming mountain restaurants are simply part of a ski holiday in Kappl. And naturally, après-ski is well catered for too.

There are many traditional huts and delightful mountain restaurants right in the ski area. The Tyrolean hosts love to treat their guests to hearty dishes. Kasnocken with Paznaun alpine cheese are as much a part of the perfect winter holiday for many as Kaiserschmarrn. By the way: guests enjoy free Wi-Fi in all Sunny Mountain restaurants (Sunny Mountain self-service restaurant, Panoramabar).

Fun on the slopes for the whole family: the Lattenabfahrt, the standout run in Kappl, covers a full 8 kilometres and drops over 1,000 vertical metres towards the valley. The red-graded piste is ideally suited to both intermediates and cruising skiers.

The starting point is the top station of the Alblittkopfbahn. At an altitude of 2,644 metres, skiers are greeted by a breathtaking panorama with views of the surrounding peaks of the Samnaun, Silvretta and Verwall mountain groups. Kappl's longest run begins with a flat passage. The piste, averaging roughly 50 metres in width and left in its natural state (all natural terrain undulations are preserved), is ideal for carving. Thanks to the varied terrain, every other skiing technique can be put to full use here as well.

The weekly toboggan evening in Kappl is more exciting than ever — especially for kids. Tobogganing runs from 19:00 to 22:00.

Guests in Kappl can look forward to excellent Austrian cuisine. Restaurants and pizzerias serve regional specialities alongside delicious dishes from around the world. Guests can choose between rustic restaurants, Italian ambience or upscale dining. A visit to one of the cafés is also not to be missed. As a quintessential Austrian institution, they serve delicious pastries as well as light snacks during the day.

By car:

Coming from Germany, take the A7 or A95 heading south. Via the Fernpass federal road B179 through Imst and Landeck, join the A12 and then take the S16 Arlberg expressway to Pians. From there, follow the Silvretta federal road B188 to Kappl.

Coming from Italy, take the A22 over the Brenner Pass and then the A13 to Innsbruck. From there, head towards Bregenz on the A12 and take the S16 to Pians. Then follow the Silvretta federal road B188 to Kappl.

Those arriving from Switzerland take the A3 to Feldkirch or the A1 to Lustenau and Dornbirn. Then follow the A14 towards Innsbruck and take the S16 through the Arlberg Tunnel to Pians. From there, follow the Silvretta federal road B188 to Kappl.

By public transport:

You can travel by train to Landeck-Zams. From there, take bus No. 4240 towards Ischgl and Kappl.
