Kappl’s extensive ski area, with its variety-filled ski runs, promises a dreamy winter holiday for all the family. Make a beeline for the wonderful pistes and traditional Alpine lodges in Tyrol.
NEW for winter 2014/15:Artificial snow generation on the Lattenabfahrt is to ensure dependable snow in the future on the popular ski run. At the moment, four diggers are intensively working on it. Additional building work is also being done to remove unevenness and help make the Lattenabfahrt an even greater delight for all winter sport enthusiasts.
PISTES AND FACILITIES IN THE KAPPL – SUNNY MOUNTAIN SKI AREAFrom December to April the village of Kappl in the Paznaun region transforms itself into a winter paradise. The Kappl-Sunny Mountain ski area reaches up to 2700 metres. This means that snow is guaranteed throughout the entire ski season. No matter if you are a leisure skier, sporty carver, a family with children or a beginner – skiing is fun in the brilliantly prepared pistes. And snowboarders get to practice new jumps and techniques in the Fun park. The longest piste in the ski area is the so-called "Lattenabfahrt". This red level ski piste covers 8 km and a whole 1000 metres altitude into the valley.
Mountain restaurants and ski lodges In the Tyrolean town of Kappl there are lots of traditional Alpine lodges and enchanting mountain restaurants right in the heart of the ski area. Tyrolean landlords like to indulge their guests with particularly hearty meals. Kasnocken with Paznaun Alpine cheese are as much a part of a perfect winter holiday as Kaiserschmarrn. How about a warming tea on cold day, or a refreshing drink on the sun terraces?
SUNNY MOUNTAIN ADVENTURE PARK IN WINTER
The adventure park in the centre of the Kappl skiing region is geared up for younger guests with an attractive nursery slope area, which is located above the Sunny Mountain Lake. The children can access the upper area via the covered Magic Carpet track, and here they can really let off steam. Then they can make a rapid descent on the Flaxi slope, which will bring them back to where they started. Fun on the ski slopes
The nursery slope area with its many comical characters, tunnels, archways and much more makes our adventure park into a place where children can have a really great time. Magic carpet tracks and practice lifts take the small skiers up to the start point of the gentle slopes, where they can practice their first slalom turns.
