      Great variety for backcountry fans!

If you take a look at Gargellen’s trail map, you’ll only find a single red trail – no.1, Schnapfenwald, which might lead you to believe that it couldn’t possibly be a very entertaining resort for intermediate skiers or boarders. What you don’t see at first glance on the map are Gargellen’s numerous off-piste possibilities. Along the 7 ski routes and slopes that fork off of them, every athletic skier is sure to find an appropriate challenge. The majority of the ski area lies above the tree line, which means that even on the longer powder runs located throughout the entire ski area, there won’t be a single tree in your path. We especially liked the trails Kristallabfahrt (10), and Standard ski route (12) right below the Gargellen Schafberg gondola (A). But the Gandasee Skiroute (3) with its extension Madrisa Steilhang, also offers some great off-piste. The resort’s particularly high elevation (1423-2300m) makes off-piste divergences possible throughout the entire winter season.
