      Flood-lit slopes for beginners!

Thanks to all green (easy) slopes being flood-lit until 10 o’clock at night, beginners also have the opportunity to hit the slopes after dark. The magic carpet lift directly at the base and the trail “Runway” off the “Easy Rider” lift create very accommodating learning conditions for the less-experienced. A barrier also separates “Runway” from the rest of the ski area, allowing beginners a chance to practice in peace. Another major advantage of learning at Cypress Mountain is its set-up, which makes gradual advancement possible. If “Runway” starts to become a bore, you can just move right over to the Midway chair lift, which will take you up to the more challenging “Shuttle” and the lower portion of “Collins.” Once you’ve had enough of those, you can take the Lions Express Quad Chair and challenge the entire “Collins” trail. Over in the Black Mountain area of the resort are the two easy trails “Panorama” and “Windjammer.” And if all the greens start getting a little too easy for you, you shouldn’t have a problem with some of the intermediates. We recommend the blue (intermediate) trail “Horizon” in the Mt. Strachan area, as well as “Maelle Ricker’s Gold” in Black Mountain.
