The Cross-Country Area

Lassalyckan in Ulricehamn is a FIS World Cup arena for cross-country skiing and one of the most renowned Nordic skiing centres in southern Sweden. The facility is geared towards professional training year-round, offering first-rate conditions for cross-country skiing, running and cycling. The arena on the edge of town hosted World Cup races in 2017, 2019 and 2021 — featuring freestyle sprints, distance races and relays in front of thousands of spectators. In winter, you ski on the very same trails where the world's best compete. Also located in the town is the Ulricehamn ski resort.

The trail network offers routes for every level: from the gently undulating 3.6-kilometre loop for beginners to the demanding 15-kilometre elite trail, whose roughly 700-metre climb after kilometre three tests even well-trained skiers. One of Northern Europe's most advanced artificial snow systems ensures reliably groomed trails even in lean snow winters. When natural snow is plentiful, the neighbouring golf course is also groomed — free of charge and without a ski pass. Well-known Swedish names such as sprint specialist Hanna Falk and three-time Vasaloppet winner Oskar Svärd grew up skiing here.

The Most Beautiful Tracks

The lit artificial-snow trail is the heart of the facility and the daily training loop for most skiers — gently undulating, well groomed and skiable after dark. The yellow trail is ideal for beginners and relaxed training sessions through the hilly woodland around Lassalyckan. Those after more of a workout take the green trail, which offers more elevation and varied terrain. The black-and-white trail is the ultimate challenge: it places high demands on fitness and technique and follows the same course used for World Cup races.

Dining along the Tracks

Five picnic areas with barbecue facilities are spread along the trails — bring a sausage to grill over an open fire or simply rest on a bench. In the Ulricehamns IF clubhouse, a red wooden building right by the car park, hot and cold drinks and snacks are available at weekends from January to mid-March. Changing rooms with sauna, showers and toilets are open to all visitors daily from 7:00 to 21:00. The nearby Hotel Lassalyckan serves lighter meals during the ski season.
