Porsche Styling Hits the Slopes: HEAD Unveils New 2026/27 Ski Collection

What do a Porsche Taycan and a pair of skis have in common? More than you might think. Sports car manufacturer Porsche and Austrian ski equipment brand HEAD have been working together since 2021. For the 2026/27 winter season, the collaboration has produced two performance-oriented ski models, a new safety binding and matching accessories.

The Taycan Provides the Design Inspiration

The Porsche Taycan Turbo Cross Turismo “Adventure” serves as the visual template for the collection. The all-electric vehicle combines all-wheel drive and increased ground clearance with a roof rack for winter sports equipment.

Its light Chalk White paintwork and black accents have been transferred to the new Porsche skis. Even the Taycan lettering appears in the graphics. Beneath the striking design are two distinct concepts: the narrow PORSCHE 7 Series for groomed slopes and the wider PORSCHE 8 Series for variable snow conditions.

PORSCHE 7 Series: Sporty and Direct on Groomed Slopes

The PORSCHE 7 Series is the more piste-focused model in the new duo. Its construction is inspired by giant slalom skis and is designed to perform at its best during dynamic carved turns.

With a 70-millimeter waist, it allows for quick edge changes and responds directly to skier input. It should feel most at home on firm, groomed runs. The comparison with a sports car on a racetrack is fitting: the 7 Series demands an active skiing style and is aimed primarily at advanced and expert skiers.

PORSCHE 8 Series: More Versatility Across the Mountain

At 88 millimeters underfoot, the PORSCHE 8 Series is considerably wider. Its larger surface area and all-mountain construction at the tip and tail are designed to provide more support in soft, chopped-up and variable snow.

Even so, the 8 Series remains a sporty ski for experienced skiers. It is not a full-blown freeride model, but rather a versatile option for those who spend most of their time on groomed slopes while occasionally venturing beyond the prepared runs.

Smoother Ride, Lower Strain: The Technology Behind the New Porsche Skis

Both models feature HEAD’s EMC technology. Electronic modules convert kinetic energy into electrical energy and are designed to reduce unwanted vibrations. This should result in a smoother ride and better edge grip, although a real-world test would be needed to determine how noticeable the effect is on snow.

Another new feature is the PROTECTOR EVO PR 13 GW binding. Its heel unit can release both vertically and laterally to reduce strain during backward-twisting falls. According to HEAD, simulations showed a reduction of more than 50 percent in the force acting on the anterior cruciate ligament. However, this does not prove that real-world injuries are reduced by the same amount. The binding is compatible with both Alpine and GripWalk boot soles.

Helmets and Goggles in Porsche Styling

The accessories in the Porsche-HEAD collection also feature understated styling and safety technologies such as Mips.

The collection also includes carbon ski poles, a ski bag, several helmets and ski goggles. The PORSCHE RADAR 5K PHOTO MIPS combines a visor helmet with a photochromic lens. The PORSCHE FAERO EXP MIPS features a hybrid shell and a height-adjustable fit system.

The PORSCHE NEVES SUNSCREEN goggles are particularly noteworthy from a technical perspective. A solar cell automatically controls the lens tint and adapts it to changing light conditions. The system requires neither batteries nor a manual switch.

How Much Do the Porsche Skis Cost?

The new skis are already available from the German Porsche online store. Both the PORSCHE 7 Series and the PORSCHE 8 Series cost €1,650 including VAT. According to the manufacturer, the binding and ski bag are included in the set.
