Record in Austria: The snowpark at the Hintertux Glacier is the highest in the alpine republic with an entrance at 3200 meters! It is also the first one to open at the beginning of September, attracting snowboarders and free skiers from all over the world to the Zillertal valley in late summer. At the beginning of October, with the official park opening, the popular season kick-off for the freestyle community in Europe takes place here.
Four different lines
Beginners as well as pros feel comfortable on the four different lines (Pro, Medium, Jib and Easy). 9 jumps and 21 jib obstacles are available at the foot of the mighty local mountain Olperer. To get into the snowpark at 3200 meters you can use the Olperer T-bar-lifts.

The Betterpark in the year-round ski area in Hintertux is not only the longest open snowpark in Austria (until the beginning of June), it is also the first to open at the beginning of September, providing the perfect backdrop for Europe's first snowpark opening of the new winter season.
Daily Action for Shape-Team
Responsible for the set-up in Hintertux is Wille Kaufmann with the company Betterparks since 15 years. The top priority is the safety of the riders: "The kickers and obstacles are structural constructions made to exact measurements, freestyle is not the order of the day when it comes to park construction", explains the park builder. During the season, the 1km long park landscape, which is made of snow, is maintained daily by him and his Shape-Team.
As the Betterpark is rebuilt several times during the season, there is always something new to discover for snowboarders and freeskiers.
Skiing on 365 days
Even though the snow park is only open in autumn and spring, skiing is possible all year round at the Hintertux Glacier. It is the only ski resort in Austria that is open 365 days a year. The highest point is at 3250 meters above sea level. In winter, 60 kilometers of slopes of all levels of difficulty await you here at the end of the Zillertal, in summer it is around 20 kilometers throughout the year.
