The ski in details
Limited edition of Völkl's all-mountain racer by Filip Pagowski
You could say that the term “all-mountain” was coined just for the Peregrine. Long, medium or crisp, short turns, cruising or skiing at the limits of speed, churned up or groomed slopes – if you’re ambitious about carving, look no further. With a 72 mm waist, the Peregrine is great for anyone who likes to carve quickly through every radius and sometimes really let rip.
The renowned artist, Filip Pagowski, highlighted the Peregrine's sporty versatility and its claw graphics, symbolizing a strong grip on all snow terrain. With a widened shovel and shortened tip and tail rocker, this powerhouse masters every turn radius and can switch edges quickly thanks to a 72-millimetre waist. Long, medium or short turns – if you’re ambitious about performance, look no further. Its versatility is magnified by Tailored Carbon Tips. Carbon fibres applied using Völkl’s exclusive Tailored Fibre Placement (TFP) process allow Völkl´s engineers to influence curve behaviour with great accuracy. The strength and alignment of the fibres define the force you need to apply and the energy that builds up where it’s needed. Agile shovel reaction is a feature of special note. This means that as soon as you initiate a turn, the ski begins to steer in a measured and controlled manner, depending on how the edges are employed. This construction also allows means less weight without any loss of stability. Last but not least, TFP allows Völkl´s designers to tailor every length to the requirements of each target group.
The whole Peregrine range is made with 3D.Glass at the front and rear areas, while the ski is built around their renowned multilayer wood core featuring a mix of poplar and beech. Two full layers of Titanal give the ski its familiar vigour. The Peregrine 72’s ride is also boosted by the R-Motion 3 GW binding. For younger and lighter riders, the Peregrine 72 is available in a length of below 160 cm – 158 cm to be precise.
Technologies
Tailored Carbon Tips
In this innovative manufacturing process the new Tailored Carbon Tips are produced by embroidering the individual carbon fibers onto a carrier material. This allows them to be positioned exactly along the stress lines, opening up completely new possibilities, for performance at the front of the ski, which has a decisive influence on the handling of the ski.
Full Sidewall ABS
ABS is a durable and resilient plastic known for its strength and impact resistance. It offers high resistance to shocks and impacts, making the ski more robust and long-lasting. These sidewalls allow for precise power transfer from the skier to the edges of the ski.
Full Titanal
The titanium setup makes the ski agile and dynamic. Especially friends of a hard, fast and aggressive riding style benefit from the quick response of this construction.
3D.GLASS
Compared to classic glass constructions the three-dimensional and multiple-folded glass layers in the tip and in the tail area result in an increased edge grip and a more vivid rebound behavior in turns.
Base P-Tex 4504
A sintered, ultra-high molecular polyethylene base with an extremely high density. Besides a great wear resistance and perfect wax absorption the P-Tex 4504 is extremely fast.
Tip & Tail Rocker
Character: Bends up only in the shovel and tail zones, with a camber shape in the middle.
Multilayer Woodcore
The side wall is laminated to extremely stable layers of wood on the sides of the sandwich core.
rMotion 3 GW
Exclusive Marker Völkl plate-binding system for high class on-piste skis. Benefits:
- Smooth & consistent drifting at moderate speed
- Tighter turns with less efforts at higher speeds
