Off to the Andes

In the Chilean and Argentine Andes there are some great ski resorts. In addition to varied pistes, unique views of imposing mountain and volcanic peaks await you here, for example the 6,962 metre high Aconcagua, which is located directly on the border of the two countries.

In Chile, the capital Santiago is a good starting point for winter sports enthusiasts. Within a radius of only 100 kilometres there are several winter sports destinations, such as La Parva, Valle Nevado and El Colorado, which together form the Tres Valles Ski Association, which covers more than 175 kilometres of pistes.

Argentina is an absolute dream destination for freeriders. The largest and most modern ski area is Catedral Alta Patagonia with over 120 kilometres of varied pistes. The Las Leñas ski resort is smaller, but no less well known, and stretches up to 3,430 metres above sea level.
