The Ski Resort
Winterplace is a great West Virginia resort offering everything you need for a perfect winter holiday. There are 36 hectares of skiable terrain with 28 designated slopes for all ability levels. The majority of the trails are easiest and intermediate trails. However, there are also a couple of difficult trails available so even experienced skiers and riders won´t get bored at Winterplace. 26 trails are lighted at night so the fun doesn´t have to end by sunset. Winterplace also has an innovative terrain park with great features including tabletops, boxes and rails. Enter the park and show what you´ve got! If you´re new to skiing and snowboarding winterplace is a great place for you. Teaching first timers has a long tradition at Winterplace and generations have learned to ski and ride here. There is a special teaching area available where you can learn in your own pace without being disturbed by more advanced winter sportsmen. Yet, even if you´re a non-skier you can have lots of fun at Winterplace. The resort is home of the largest Snowtubing Park in West Virginia! Snowtubing is the activity you dream of as a kid. It is easy, fast and most of all fun! There is also a Day Care available for the little ones so the rest of the family can enjoy the great trails of Winterplace! - The vertical drop from summit to base is 604 ft. The average difference in altitude between base and summit of Ski Resorts in the USA is 1230 ft. Runs and slopes are therefore relatively short. The high point of the ski resort is located at an elevation of 3599 ft.
- Average snow depth during the season is 45 " at summit elevation and 26 " at base elevation. Snow coverage is usually best during February, offering an average snow depth of 52 " at summit elevation and 31 " at the base.
