The Ski Resort

The family-friendly ski area on the south side of the Zugspitze starts right in the Tyrolean Zugspitz village of Ehrwald. Due to the unique southwest location guests will find sun-drenched slopes and sun terraces.

It is within walking distance and in the immediate vicinity are numerous hotels, guesthouses and holiday homes. The Ehrwalder Wettersteinbahnen offer winter sports guests 23 km of skiing and snowboarding pleasure.

You have the choice between two different entry options to the ski area. One of them is located directly in the center of Ehrwald, from where the modern childsafe 6-seater chairlift leads to the ski area. Another possibility is the direct access via the Wettersteinbahn, here you have the opportunity to make tracks on challenging slopes in the snow. At the Wettersteinbahnen, especially families with aspiring skiers and snowboarders will be welcomed with open arms. But also for the rest of the clientele of winter sports enthusiasts there is a lot to discover on and around the Ehrwalder Wettersteinlifte. So there is the only half pipe in the Tyrolean Zugspitzarena, which should be a highlight for freestyle boarders and skiers and at the Gamsalm a snowboard fun park.

On Mountain Dining

There are 5 huts and restaurants. Here everyone really finds what he likes to eat. The food is served, which is very pleasant. Queuing and pushing are not known here.

In addition to the usual dishes, the restaurants also offer individual specialties:

Gamsalm-Hütte: typical Tyrolean dishes, but with a touch of Italy, uniquely good and much praised: Kaiserschmarrn

W1 Lounge Hut: Specialty burgers and delicious grilled chicken

DER SONNENHANG: classic Tyrolean cuisine with some extras, great wine selection

Gasthaus Panorama: traditional and cozy, very popular with families

Confetti Alm: perfectly furnished to the needs of families with children

The large sun terraces of all restaurants are located directly on the slopes or lift stations: After a break, big and small start again directly into the ski fun.

Must-Ski Runs

The 23 km long slopes offer wide carving slopes with a variety of possible combinations. The entire area can be snowed if necessary. It offers runs for all levels, from beginners to advanced skiers. The slopes are well maintained! Highlights for boarders are the halfpipe at the bottom station of the Wettersteinbahn (if the snow conditions are appropriate) and the snowpark at the Gamsalm

Advanced skiers love the black runs, which are even FIS-certified racetracks: Here, the ski pros train before the World Cup races!
