The Ski Resort
Skiing in the morning, Mediterranean Sea in the afternoon? The ski resort Saklikent makes it possible: it is located only around 30km/18.7mi from the coastal town of Antalya. With 7km/4.3mi of slopes it may not be very big, but it still features runs for all difficulty levels. While beginners practise their first turns on the green slope by the baby lift, or try the blue run at the t-bar, more advanced winter sportsmen take the chair lift to the highest point of the resort, where reds and blacks start.
- The vertical drop from summit to base is 2287 ft. The average difference in altitude between base and summit of Ski Resorts in Turkey is 2251 ft. The highest point of the track is 8356 ft above sea level.
- Season starts on Dec 9 and ends on Apr 8 (120 days). Average season duration in Turkey is 119 days.
There is a toboggan run next to the chair lift, which can only be used with the sleighs for rent on-site.
The ski resort is located 50km/31mi from Antalya airport, and 35km/21.7mi from the city centre. A shuttle service goes from 5M Migros at the centre to the ski resort at 8 am, and back at 4 pm on weekends.
