The Ski Resort
The small ski area Prägraten lies at the foot of mount Großvenediger in East Tyrol. If you want to learn how to ski, Prägraten on the Großvenediger is just the right place. The two T-bar lifts are located in the immediate vicinity of the mountain village and are ideal for families with children. Altogether there are 2 km of slopes available for skiing or snowboarding. The slopes, some of which are also marked in black, are also very popular with experienced skiers.

- The vertical drop from summit to base is 584 ft. The average difference in altitude between base and summit of Ski Resorts in Austria is 2362 ft. Runs and slopes are therefore relatively short. The high point of the ski resort is located at an elevation of 4888 ft.

- Average snow depth during the season is 24 " at summit elevation and 22 " at base elevation. Snow coverage is usually best during November, offering an average snow depth of 28 " at summit elevation and 24 " at the base.

Even on warmer winter days, skiing fun is guaranteed in Prägraten on the Großvenediger, because the ski area has a snowmaking system.
Activities
The untouched and snow-covered winter landscape in Prägraten invites you not only to ski, but also to numerous ski touring possibilities or to cross-country skiing. In the Hohe Tauern National Park there are cross-country trails for classic cross-country skiing or skating. If you simply want to enjoy the wild and romantic nature, you can explore it on a horse-drawn sleigh ride or on a winter walk.

From the direction of Lienz you take the B108 to Matrei in East Tyrol. On the Virgener Landestraße you continue to Prägraten am Großvenediger.
Coming from Zell am See, take the B168 to Mittersill and then the B108. Near Matrei in East Tyrol you drive on the Virgener Landestraße and follow this road to Prägraten am Großvenediger.
