Ski Resort Meraker in North Tröndelag: Position on map

Meraker Ski Resort

Trail Map Meraker

The Ski Resort

Meråker Alpinsenter lies in the municipality of Meråker in Trøndelag and ranks among the largest ski areas in central Norway. Set in beautiful natural surroundings, twelve kilometres of pistes across 16 runs of varying difficulty are served by four T-bar surface lifts and two children's tows. The vertical drop is 440 metres, reaching a summit height of 600 metres, and the longest run measures 2,400 metres. The resort caters for alpine skiing, snowboarding and telemark — and the runs are also suitable for sit-ski users. From the top station, clear days reveal panoramic views of Storsylen, the Trondheimsfjord and the surrounding Meråker peaks. The ski centre is just a short drive from Trondheim Værnes airport and the city of Trondheim.

Meråker has built a particular reputation as a freeride paradise. On powder days, riders flock from across the Trondheim region to the mountains around the ski centre, which offers outstanding off-piste terrain beyond the groomed runs. For freestylers, a roughly 700-metre terrain park features two big jumps and seven rails, built from artificial snow with two lines.

Interesting facts

On Mountain Dining

At the base, the ski centre's café opens at weekends and during holiday periods. The menu includes burgers, wraps, waffles and homemade hot chocolate — all meat comes from the local Meråker Kjøtt producer. Mid-slope, the Kirkebyfjellet restaurant offers a fireplace, coffee, pastries and hot meals, with a terrace commanding impressive views of the snowy peaks. A kiosk at the rental shop provides additional refreshments.

Activities

Starting from the Fagerlia area right at the ski centre, an extensive cross-country trail network of world-class standard stretches into the landscape — elite racers train here alongside recreational skiers. Trails are groomed for both classic and skating technique. The region also offers opportunities for paragliding and kitesurfing.
