The Ski Resort
Hurdal Skisenter lies in the Akershus province and is the largest ski area in the region. Just around 30 minutes' drive north of Oslo Gardermoen airport, it is one of the most accessible ski resorts in southern Norway. At an elevation of 265 to 525 metres, roughly 7 kilometres of pistes with 11 runs of varying difficulty are served by 3 surface lifts. The family-friendly resort offers varied terrain for beginners and intermediates — from wide family runs and a racing track to a skicross course and a black run. A dedicated children's slope and a terrain park with jumps and rails complete the offering.
Interesting facts
- The day pass at Hurdal is NOK375 making it one of the 15 cheapest ski Resorts in Norway.
Snow Safety & Snowmaking
Thanks to the Scandinavian climate, Hurdal typically enjoys reliable snow conditions from December to April. Average snow depth during peak season ranges from 50 to 100 centimetres. In addition, around 6 kilometres of pistes are equipped with snowmaking facilities, ensuring good coverage even when natural snowfall is scarce.
Nightskiing
Hurdal has a floodlight system that enables night skiing on roughly 3 kilometres of pistes. This extends the ski day well beyond sunset — a real bonus during the dark Scandinavian winter months.
Activities
Off the pistes, Hurdal offers a toboggan run and access to cross-country skiing trails in the surrounding area. Outdoor fireplaces let visitors host their own winter barbecue — a popular Norwegian tradition. The ski centre's café serves hot drinks and snacks. The resort sits close to Hurdalsjøen and makes an easy day trip from Oslo or Gardermoen.
