The Ski Resort
Haukelifjell Skisenter in Vågslid ranks among the most snow-reliable ski resorts in Norway. Situated on the E 134 between Oslo and Bergen, it benefits from a dry, cold high-mountain climate that delivers abundant snowfall early in the autumn and allows a season from November well into April. Sixteen wide runs spread across a resort that appeals to families and freeriders in equal measure. All slopes are generously laid out — crowding simply doesn't happen here. A dedicated family lift and the separate children's area "Vennebakken", with jumps, bridges and tunnels, create a sheltered zone for the youngest skiers. A free 80-metre ski conveyor belt is open to all visitors.
What has made Haukelifjell famous among advanced skiers is its freeride terrain: the expansive slopes around the ski centre offer lift-based powder descents that are hard to match anywhere in Norway. The floodlit terrain park with three large jump profiles and a varied rail line is also open for evening sessions.

- Elevated between 845 m and 1,215 m, the Ski Resort is among the 15 highest elevated Ski Resorts in Norway. The vertical drop from summit to base is 370 m. The average difference in altitude between base and summit of Ski Resorts in Norway is 427 m.
Snow Safety & Snowmaking
The exposed high-mountain position delivers above-average snow depths — natural snow of over one metre during peak season is the norm, not the exception. Artificial snowmaking is not needed in these conditions.
On Mountain Dining
A large service building directly at the ski centre houses a café, ski rental, sports shop and après-ski pub. The pub hosts mountain quizzes and live music at weekends and on public holidays. The traditional Haukeliseter Fjellstue, roughly ten minutes' drive away, serves refined mountain cuisine.
Nightskiing
The terrain park is fully equipped with floodlights and open in the evening.
Activities
Around 70 kilometres of groomed cross-country trails lead through both the high-mountain landscape and the lower valleys. Just ten minutes from the ski centre, the Haukeliseter Fjellstue is regarded as one of Norway's finest snowkiting destinations and regularly offers courses and camps. Dog-sledding tours with Haukeli Husky complete the winter programme.
