Trail Map Steinrückenlift Schleching

The Ski Resort

The Steinrückenlift (also called "Afterer") is located in the district of Ettenhausen in Schleching. The ski area is especially suitable for beginners. In addition to the one kilometre long piste, there is also a toboggan run for children.

When snow conditions are good, the Schleching Ski Club, which has been operating the lift almost exclusively on a voluntary basis for several years, organises some events at the Steinrückenlift. For example, the "Afterer Cup Race Series Alpine and Nordic" with ski races for children takes place and on carnival Sunday skiing is free for masked skiers. In addition, a ski course is offered in cooperation with the Schleching kindergarten.

The Steinrücken lift is open on weekdays from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and on weekends and public holidays as well as during holidays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The piste is floodlit on Wednesdays and Fridays from 18 to 20 o'clock.

Since 2015 the Geigelstein cable car to the second highest peak in the Chiemgau Alps is no longer in operation. The former operator could not afford a general renovation of the cable car for financial reasons. The chairlift built in 1969 is currently for sale or lease.
