The Ski Resort
Gålå Alpin sits on an open mountain plateau at roughly 930 metres in the Gudbrandsdalen valley, one hour north of Lillehammer — right in the heart of what Norwegians know as "Peer Gynt's Realm", the legendary world of the country's most famous literary character. Six lifts serve 15 runs on both sides of the gently rising mountain terrain. The piste offering ranges from flat beginner slopes and well-groomed family runs to more demanding sections — on the Valsfjell side, a new surface lift has been installed to replace a chairlift that had been out of service for several years. A terrain park and generous children's areas complete the picture. Gålå has also produced a connection to the top of the skiing world: Kjetil Jansrud, World Cup winner in alpine skiing, hails from here.

- The vertical drop from summit to base is 218 m. The average difference in altitude between base and summit of Ski Resorts in Norway is 427 m. Runs and slopes are therefore relatively short. The highest point of the track is 1,148 m above sea level.
- The day pass at Gala is NOK370 making it one of the 10 cheapest ski Resorts in Norway.

What has made Gålå famous far beyond its alpine slopes is its cross-country offering. Roughly 230 kilometres of groomed trails lead from the plateau into the high-mountain landscapes of the Jotunheimen and Rondane national parks. The trails connect to the Peer Gynt region's wider network totalling 630 kilometres, linking Gålå via the famous Peer Gynt Trail to Lauvåsen, Fagerhøy and Skeikampen. By Gålåvatnet lake, the wood-fired Peer Gynt Sauna invites relaxation — those who dare can plunge through a hole in the ice afterwards.
Après-Ski and Nightlife
At weekends and during holiday weeks, the Peer Gynt Café hosts après-ski events — in an atmosphere that fits the relaxed cabin community that defines Gålå.

Infrastructure & Rental
Ski rental, ski service and a ski school are located directly at the alpine centre. Alpine skis, snowboards, cross-country skis and further equipment are available for hire. Accommodation ranges from the extensive holiday cabin village around Gålåvatnet to the Gålå Høgfjellshotell with direct trail access. A small supermarket on site covers daily needs.
