Brokke Ski Resort

Brokke Alpinsenter sits in the heart of the Setesdal valley in southern Norway, at the foot of the Setesdal Vesthei plateau in the municipality of Valle. The small, peaceful resort has deliberately positioned itself as a family destination: no rush, no queues, just six varied runs, a terrain park and a dedicated children's area with a conveyor-belt lift. A three-seater chairlift — operating at weekends and during holidays — carries you up to Kvisletoppen, from where you can choose between groomed main runs and off-piste terrain. For children aged 6 to 12, the "Brokkieklubb" offers supervised skiing with experienced instructors.

At the base of the slopes, the Skikroa is the central meeting point with a café and hot food. Next door, the Nistebui is a bring-your-own-lunch room. On Saturdays from 15:00, the Nistebui transforms into a cosy après-ski pub with drinks and a warm atmosphere.

Evening skiing under floodlights is available on Thursdays from 17:00 to 20:00 and on Fridays from 12:00.

From the ski centre, roughly 50 kilometres of groomed cross-country trails stretch into the high-mountain terrain. A lit trail leads directly from the base, and from the summit of Kvisletoppen you can ski on into Myklevatn and the Evardalen valley. Beyond skiing, the Setesdal offers ice climbing on its steep rock faces in winter and three Via Ferrata routes around Valle. Brokke is roughly two hours from the south coast around Kristiansand.

Every Saturday from 15:00, the Nistebui hosts an après-ski session — small, cosy and exactly what you need after a day in the Setesdal mountains.

Ski rental and a ski school are located directly at the ski centre. A small ski shop is also on site. Helmets are free for children, and admission for those under six is free. The nearby Sølvgården Hotel offers accommodation, with holiday cabins and plots also available in the surrounding area.
