Brandnertal ski resort covers 55 kilometer (34 miles) skiable terrain and is serviced by 14 lifts. By featuring mostly blue and red trails it´s a great destination for families, beginners and people re-entering the world of skiing and riding. The idyllic surrounding is another plus.

Start of by riding up the mountain Bürserberg and hit the trail towards Loischkopf. Also check out the slopes right next to the Einhornbahn. Those are like an invitation for carving  (No. 20, 21 and 22). If you consider yourself among beginners, grab the Tschenglailift and after follow signage for the slopes at Loischkopf (1860 meter= 6102 ft) to find your personal challenges. The black marked run along the Loischbahn pleases even the most courageous skiers and riders. An other descend trail takes you from Loischkopf to the area of Brand.

You can also access the ski resort by taking one of the modern 8 seater gondolas Dorfbahn or Palüdbahn. The Dorfbahn takes you to Parpfienz (1390 meter =4560 ft) where you can either switch into the Panoramabahn that brings you to the slopes in Bürserberg or you can decide to explore the trails that are situated around Gulma (1800 meter=5905 ft). Here you can hit the new permanent FIS race slope that is actually free of charge. The Dorfbahn takes you to the terrain park Backyards. The exquisite location and 30 obstacles speak for itself. Following the motto: ´sky is the limit´ you can go even higher by riding the Glatthjochbahn to the highest point with a drop of 2000 meters (6561 ft). Here, a great run lies in front of you that will take you right through the Lorenzital. Little visitors can check out the kids paradise that is in the center of the valley and always covered in artificial snow. Children from age four and up are welcome.

    On Mountain Dining

You can´t criticize the variety of choices for lunch options and places to rest. If you smell fresh wood-fired pizza, you are probably close to the new restaurant Goona that also has a generous salad buffet and delicious dishes from the pan. Regional specialties are on the mid-mountain hut Melkboden´s menu. The Fuchsbau right at the Einhornbahn offers a great view of the surrounding mountain world plus great house specials like Spätzle. The Rufana Alp, also located right next to the Einhornbahn, comes as cozy as mountain huts get by boasting a rustic atmosphere, wooden furniture and a charming fireplace.

    Must-ski Runs

Scenic is the downhill descend from Glattjoch by going through the Lorenzital (No.9) definitely the most outstanding one.

The area around the Brandnertal, Klostertal and Bludenz together has 150 kilometers (93 miles) of winter hiking trails. A must is the elevated plateau Tschengla in Bürserberg. On 1250 meters (4101 feet) above sea level you can enjoy the view on the five surrounding valleys. You could also book a horse or husky sleigh ride to explore the winter landscape. A torchlight hike at night is a blast for the whole family!

Look for the natural ice rink in the town center. There are tons of toboggan runs where winter vacationers can find the thrill of speed. The 6 kilometer (3,7 miles) long natural toboggan run Schattenlagant in Brand or the night tobogganing run in Bürserberg will keep all speed fans entertained for several days.

Fun for the whole family is the animal experience path where you get to see goats, chickens and more. In the pre-christmas time you can admire life-sized crib figures.

    Après Ski

The nightlife in Brandnertal starts straight ahead after lift closing times. Three bars are available for Apres-ski fans. The Mühlebach Cafe& Pub invites you to taste their delicious cocktails, have a beer or two and sample live-music every Wednesday starting at 9:30 pm. The conservatory of the restaurant Alpentenne is pumping by the afternoon and guarantees great music. More relaxed is the atmosphere in the mid-mountain hut Heuboada at the hotel Sarotla. They take pride in their wine list.

    Fine Dining

The alpine steakhouse in Brand welcomes with Argentinian beef from the grill. Real unique: You can even watch how your steak gets prepared because there´s a live cam in the kitchen. The team of the Brander Hof under the supervision of chef de cuisine Miladin Panic serves international and modern Austrian cuisine. The restaurant Heuboda can even prepare dishes without gluten or lactose, if desired. It´s also well-know for their expansive wine card.  Naturhotel Taleu has great food by using only local and seasonal ingredients and therefore it even won the award ´green touquet´.
