The Ski Resort
Ålen Skisenter lies in the municipality of Holtålen in Trøndelag, roughly 30 kilometres from the UNESCO World Heritage town of Røros and about 90 minutes' drive from Trondheim. Opened in 1999, the resort offers 8 kilometres of pistes across 6 runs of varying difficulty, served by two surface lifts. The vertical drop is 330 metres, with slopes stretching from 390 to 726 metres above sea level. A highlight is one of the longest surface lifts in Norway at 1,710 metres. The family-friendly resort caters to beginners and intermediates alike. A terrain park and a dedicated children's slope with its own lift complete the offering. Off the groomed runs, the area offers good opportunities for powder skiing and tree runs.
