Al Ski Resort

Ål Skisenter lies in the Votndalen valley, roughly seven kilometres outside the centre of Ål — in the heart of the Hallingdal winter region. The resort is best known for the Svartebergløypa, one of Norway's finest giant slalom courses and a regular training venue for the Norwegian men's and women's national alpine teams. With a vertical drop of over 450 metres and a consistent gradient, it is a draw for ambitious skiers. But the resort's other side impresses too: one of Hallingdal's most popular beginner and family slopes awaits, with a free lift in the children's area for the youngest skiers. The terrain park right next to the Svartebergløypa offers jumps and rails for all ability levels. Snowmaking covers the entire piste area.

A café at the ski centre serves hot drinks, snacks and simple meals — the perfect stop between runs on the Svartebergløypa.

Evening skiing runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 17:30 to 20:00. On Tuesdays, only the family lift operates — ideal for a quiet family evening on the slopes. On Thursdays, the main lift runs.

As "Arena Ål", the resort is also popular with clubs and sports groups: teams of all levels use the facilities for training camps and competitions. The wider Hallingdal region offers an extensive cross-country trail network.

Ski rental, a sports shop, ski service and ski storage are located directly at the base. The ski school offers lessons for beginners and intermediates. Accommodation is available at the nearby Actif Hotel. Free parking is provided at the ski centre. Ål is reachable by train and bus from Oslo.
