The Cross-Country Area

Southwest of Schönsee is the Nordic-Sport-Centrum Schönsee-Rosenhof, which offers 33.6 km of easy to difficult cross-country trails. The tracks are designed for both classic cross-country skiing and skating (16.8 km each).

At 3.3 km, the Rosenhof trail is the shortest. It is divided into several competition tracks. The Schwander Loipe is 6 km long, but can also be run as a small round with 3.5 km. The longest is the Schönseer Loipe (7.5 km). In addition, there is a 4 km long floodlight trail, which is illuminated Monday to Thursday from 17.30 to 20.00 o'clock. The starting point for the cross-country ski runs is the car park in the Schönsee district of Schwand. There is a service station with toilets and a changing room.

In the Schönseer Land cross-country skiing enthusiasts will find a total of around 60 kilometres of cross-country trails. In addition to the Nordic-Sport-Centrum Schönsee-Rosenhof, there are also classic panoramic trails such as the 10 km long Weidinger Loipe.

Getting Here

From Schwandorf take the A93 to the Nabburg exit and then drive via Teunz and Oberviechtach towards Schönsee. Shortly before Schönsee you turn right to Schwand, where you will find the parking lot from where the cross-country trails start.
